51st independence day Celebration

On Saturday 1st  of Oct, 2011, Nigeria marked her  51st independence day and it was also celebrated in  Marywood Girls College as being the 1st  independence celebration in school.

The programme started at about 7:00pm with the opening prayer and the head girl, Idornigie Joan Ornimie gave a  speech on Nigeria independence day”.

The entire students were all dressed in their different  traditional attire to showcase for  the event.

There were a lot of things to showcase like different cultural dance, traditional dresses and costumes, drama in different languages.

The night was a wonderful night for Marywood Girls College students because it was full of fun as both the students and staff available enjoyed themselves  to the fullest. The vote of thanks was given by the Asst. Head girl, Obi Divine.
